Dell Inspiron 15R

I bought this laptop from currys edge lane in liverpoolfor £599, in november 2010, three weeks ago I started to notice the the connection on the laptop that connects to the charger was becoming lose and that the charger started to fall out, I thought no problem shall take it back to currys and get it fixed, currys said, yes its a common fault we will have to send it back to DELL to get it fixed, but i have to speak to them first, I was given a premium rate number to ring at £1.50 a minute to speak to dell (money makin scheme), so anyway, the lady on the end of the phone didnt speak english and it was costing myself lots of money while i couldnt understand her, and she couldnt under stand me, so aftet TWENTY MINUTES talking to her, she said OH yis that will cost you ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS TO GET FIXED, i said you must be joking its under guarantee, she said No thats not under the guarantee, and if its your charger that will be a HUNDRED pounds too, I was so gobsmaked. As i am a voluntary group who support people with Autism, we now dont have a laptop, because we havnt got the money to pay for the repair. so please dont buy anything from currys, currys are the point of sale and they should protect its customers from financial abuse by multi millionaires like DELL...I am waiting for watchdog to reply to my emails and the Liverpool echo to pubish the story, I will make sure currys and dell dont make money out of useless laptops...Disgusting
